TGIWednesday… What are you thankful for?

Thank goodness it’s Wednesday!

Back in the day, our family went on Safari in South Africa. We drove from one camp to another but during the long drive to Cape Town we had to drive past the deeply impoverished Shanty Town.

No electricity, no running water, half-naked humanity that had gathered up whatever materials they could find to create shelter. It looked like a UNICEF commercial.
After a while, you could not look at it without tearing up… not from a place of sadness, but from a deeper place of sorrow.

That day changed us as a family. So, during this time of thanks, it is important to remember that if you have electricity, running water and a roof over your head, you’re better off than 51% of the world.

That being said, I don’t want to overlook the fact that during these holiday times, many of us run up against deep emotional wounds, and past traumas having to do with family rejection, negative judgements, abandonment, alienation, reoccuring arguments or disagreements… we all have our stories and patterns.

TGIWednesday and Toxic People

Some people are just toxic and have no interest in self-improvement. But if you’re like me, we are striving to improve ourselves continually and that’s why I created the MP3 Audio Downloads http://bit.ly/mybeliefworks.

It doesn’t matter if someone is a relative, romantic partner, employer, childhood lifelong friend or relatively new to you. If they are toxic, they need to go. No need to allow them to cause you pain or make you feel less than or suck the life out of you.

If they own up to it, and make changes that’s fine, but it’s also important to remember it’s not YOUR job to change them. If they ignore boundaries, hurt your feelings continually or harm you, they need to go. It is important to remember this during our holidays.

We often romanticize the Holidays and don’t want to “upset” anyone, but honestly you need to view these toxic people as this bear below!
